The City Girls have released a whole bunch of fun, catchy, good-feeling music in the past and they’re now gearing up to release more but with different energy and an “elevated” vibe. In an interview with @Complex, the girls talk about their forthcoming project and shared how it all came together
JT explained that after trying to create the “perfect song,” they ended up turning it into a project. “It’s just a perfection thing right now,” she told the outlet. “I don’t want to put out nothing corny. I feel like we’ve been here too long, and I don’t even want to play how we used to. I want the music to be good and hit. It’s still p*ssy rap like it’ll be fun but much more elevated. It’s elevated p**y rap.”
Along with their confidence, the girls are coming with new energy. During the interview, Yung Miami made it clear, “We’re legends and I don’t give a f*ck what nobody says.” JT added, “For real, who did it like the City Girls? Nobody. It ain’t been two b*tches to come in, have this personality, and give people the attitude. We came, and just talked about p*ssy and just being us. Ain’t nobody got good p*ssy rap like City Girls.”
When Is Their New Album Coming Out?
Although the ladies just dropped their new track titled, “I Need A Thug,” fans can expect tons of new songs from them this summer, per the outlet. It was said that the new album will include 17-20 tracks.
JT and Miami explained that this project is all about freedom, something they’ve always stood by but even more so now. “I feel like freedom is more important than money. Just feeling free, doing what I want to do… but it’s like now it’s time to get to it and really grind and stand on business.”
What Else Have The Girls Been Working On?
While Jt has been securing business deals and collaborations, Yung Miami has been dipping her feet into the acting world. On top of securing a role on “Grownish,” Miami has also appeared on the big screen for the film “You People.” Most recently she was she seen on an episode of BMF and went viral over her acting skills.
While some enjoyed it, others were quick to criticize her. However, she told The Cut in an interview earlier this year, “When BMF came out. I wasn’t embarrassed, but I was like, Oh my God, everybody’s laughing at me! It’s okay, I laughed too. I don’t take anything personally. I don’t give a f*ck, whatever. I find laughter in everything. Like b*tch, I’m gonna laugh with y’all, we’re gonna laugh together.”
Meanwhile JT has been inspiring the girlies to take on her new trends and bold styles. Her voice has also become a trending sound on TikTok over her now-famous line, “I Don’t Have Kids, I Don’t Have To Go As Hard.”
