Terry Crews and Tichina Arnold also shared a video to their Instagram accounts showing their excitement for the animated series. “We have been anxiously waiting to announce #EVERYBODY STILL HATES CHRIS – Animated series on @ComedyCentral – Yay! We are so excited about this new venture. For all of you lovely people that have rocked with us, you now get a chance to laugh at our animated characters. We appreciate your support. Let’s go,” their caption read.

In the show, Rock lends his voice to the adult version of Chris, sharing stories based on his own childhood experiences as an outcast in a big, working-class family in Brooklyn’s Bed-Stuy neighborhood during the late 1980s. Crews returns as Julius, Chris’ dad, a kind and hardworking giant who’s frugal due to his humble beginnings. He works multiple jobs to support the family and is always mindful of the value of a dollar. Arnold reprises her role as Rochelle, Chris’ mom, a smart, determined, and caring person who also has a fiery temper, especially when it comes to her children. She has high standards and doesn’t hesitate to speak her mind, often quitting jobs when they don’t meet her expectations.
