Chris Rock Slams Meghan Markle’s Royal Family Racism Claims: ‘If You’re Black And You Wanted To Be Accepted By Your White In-Laws Then You Need To Marry A Kardashian’

Outside of addressing his feud with Will Smith during his Netflix special, “Selective Outrage,” Chris Rock also called out Meghan Markle who he said had done a lot of complaining since ditching the royal family. As we all know, Markle and Prince Harry have since relocated to Montecito, California, after giving up their positions as royal seniors over privacy concerns, bullying by the media, and claims of alleged racism from one of Harry’s relatives while the couple was living in the UK.

In March 2021, they famously sat down for an interview with Oprah Winfrey, asserting how someone in the royal family had commented on their “concerns” about how dark the skin of their first-born son, Archie, would be once Markle had given birth. Harry and his wife decided not to disclose who exactly made the remark during the interview, but the Duke of Sussex did make sure to let it be known it wasn’t the Queen or Prince Philip.

Rock felt inclined to bring up the couple during his live comedy show on Saturday evening, saying that Markle shouldn’t have been shocked by the royal family’s alleged racist comment since they were the “original racists.”

He explained, “Going on Oprah, ‘I didn’t know, I had no idea how racist they were.’ It’s the royal family! You didn’t Google these motherf—–? What the f— is she talking about, she didn’t know? It’s the royal family! They’re the original racists!'” He then went on to joke that if Markle, who recently revealed she’s 43% Nigerian, was truly looking for acceptance from her in-laws, she would’ve been better off marrying a Kardashian.

“I’m like, ‘If you Black and you wanted to be accepted by your White in-laws then you need to marry a Kardashian because they accept everybody,” Rock quipped, seemingly making light of the famous clan mostly dating Black men.

Meanwhile, back in January, Harry appeared to backtrack on what they had led the public on to believe when they brought up Archie’s skin color potentially being an issue to the royal family. In an interview with ITV, the “Spare” author said he and Markle never actually accused his family of being racist but instead having an unconscious bias.

“She said there were troubling comments about Archie’s skin color. Wouldn’t you describe that as essentially racist?,” host Tom Bradby respectfully asked. But Harry begged to differ, explaining that having an unconscious bias would indicate that a certain individual still has an opportunity to grow from their stance on things, while the same can’t be said for someone categorized as a racist.

In September 2020, Harry and Markle reportedly signed a $100 million deal with Netflix to produce original shows for the streaming giant, which included their recent docu-series, “Harry & Meghan,” giving fans an insight look to their lives since leaving the royal family.
