Chris Rock Reveals He’s In Therapy 7 Hours A Week Due To COVID-19 Pandemic
While speaking with CBS Sunday Morning‘s Gayle King, Chris Rock revealed that for 7 hours a week, he’s in therapy due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The 55-year-old famed comedian and actor says, “I learned that I could be very hard on myself. Like really, really hard on myself, and I need to relax. And I need to listen, I need to take chances.”
Rock says since the onset of the pandemic, he’s increased his therapy visits to about seven hours a week. He adds, “You have to tell the truth. You have to tell – you have to go into therapy prepared to tell the worst part of yourself every week, you know?”

Rock’s reveal follows that to The Hollywood Reporter in September, when he announced his diagnosis with nonverbal learning disorder (NVLD) this year after a nine-hour series of cognitive tests. Then he told THR about his therapy, explaining how he’s working out his childhood traumas. “I thought I was actually dealing with it, and the reality is I never dealt with it. The reality was the pain and the fear that that brought me, I was experiencing it every day.”
