Chris Rock Comedy Tour Sales Reportedly Skyrocket ‘Overnight’ After Oscars Altercation

According to @radaronline, Chris Rock’s comedy ticket sales have skyrocketed just a few hours after the viral moment that happened at the Oscars last night when Will Smith smacked Chris for making jokes about his wife, Jada Pinkett Smith.

“We sold more tickets to see Chris Rock overnight than we did in the past month combined,” TickPick shared a tweet on Monday morning, also asserting prices have seen a severe increase. Tickets went up from a minimum of $46 per person on March 18 to a minimum of $341, reports Variety.

Rock is set to perform at Boston’s Wilbur Theatre for 6 shows from March 30th-April 1st.

After the viral moment shocked the whole world yesterday it seems fans are extremely eager to see what Rock has to say about the situation.

Will Smith made a post on Instagram, Monday night to formally apologize to Rock. 

The King Richard actor shared a post saying, “I would like to publicly apologize to you, Chris. I was out of line and I was wrong. I am embarrassed and my actions were not indicative of the man I want to be. There is no place for violence in a world of love and kindness.”
