Speaking at the Mark Twain Prize at the Kennedy Center, where Adam Sandler was being honored for the prize in American humor, Chris Rock kicked things off with a couple of wild jokes and poked fun at the capital crowd, which included former Speaker Nancy Pelosi and members of President Biden’s administration.
During the event that went down on Sunday night, Chris Rock warned that arresting Donald Trump would make him “more popular.” He also jokingly defended the former president, saying it was “romantic” he allegedly paid off adult film star Stormy Daniels so Melania Trump wouldn’t find out he cheated on her. Rock also slid in a joke about Joe Biden, saying the 80-year-old came back from the dead to be president.

“Are you guys really going to arrest Trump?” he asked the crowd. “Do you know this is only going to make him more popular? It’s like arresting Tupac. He’s just gonna sell more records. Are you stupid?,” Rock continued as the crowd laughed along, according to the Daily Mail.
He went on to joke Trump had “f****** a porn star” and paid off someone so his wife couldn’t find out. That’s romantic. “We’ve all been cheated on. Don’t you wish that the person that cheated on you paid off somebody so you wouldn’t find out?” he added.
The comedian was referring to the fact Trump is set to face criminal charges for $130,000 in payments his former lawyer, Michael Cohen, sent to porn star Stormy Daniels toward the end of his 2016 campaign. He’s been accused of violating the campaign finance laws with the payment. The money was allegedly sent to silence Daniels about an affair she had with the mogul.
Although Trump has denied those allegations about an affair, he’s also preparing to be arrested this Tuesday!
As we previously reported, he tweeted on his social media platform Truth Social, “NOW ILLEGAL LEAKS FROM A CORRUPT & HIGHLY POLITICAL MANHATTAN DISTRICT ATTORNEYS OFFICE, WHICH HAS ALLOWED NEW RECORDS TO BE SET IN VIOLENT CRIME & WHOSE LEADER IS FUNDED BY GEORGE SOROS, INDICATE THAT WITH NO CRIME BEING ABLE TO BE PROVEN, & BASED ON AN OLD & FULLY DEBUNKED (BY NUMEROUS OTHER PROSECUTORS!) FAIRYTALE, THE FAR & AWAY LEADING REPUBLICAN CANDIDATE & FORMER PRESIDENT OF THE UNITED STATES OF AMERICA, WILL BE ARRESTED ON TUESDAY OF NEXT WEEK. PROTEST, TAKE OUR NATION BACK!,” Trump’s full post read.
Now, a spokesman has since issued a statement clarifying that Mr. Trump had not written his post with direct knowledge of the timing of any arrest.
“President Trump is rightfully highlighting his innocence and the weaponization of our injustice system,” the statement said.

Although President Joe Biden didn’t attend the Mark Twain Prize, it didn’t stop Rock from targeting him. While making fun of Biden’s age, Rock said, “Trump was so bad as a president, he was so bad that Joe Biden had to burst off a monument. Biden was dead for 16 years,” he said, garnering more laughter from the auditorium.
President Biden has been alive and well even after recently removing his skin cancer.
Rock also gave a shoutout to Paul Pelosi, who was next to Nancy Pelosi in the audience. “Paul Pelosi only got it. He knows how I felt,” he said.
