Oop! Chris Brown has caught wind of Tinashe being “embarrassed” for previously working with him and R. Kelly.” Brown clapped back and told social media users to “Name 5 Tinashe songs or die,” and then added, “What’s more embarrassing is we couldn’t even save her career.”

As we previously shared a couple of days ago, Tinashe shared her regrets while appearing in a new interview on the ‘Zach Sang Show,’ via Variety. During the sit-down, Tinashe opened up about her career in the entertainment industry, and what went viral was about her feeling forced to work with some controversial artists under her first contract with record label RCA.

In a clip going viral, Tinashe was asked about some of her early work and what it was like recording songs with R. Kelly (“Let’s Be Real Now”) and Chris Brown (“Player”). Firing back at the question, Tinashe said, “You think I wanted to [do those songs]?”

Speaking on her track with a convicted and imprisoned R. Kelly, she said, “I literally block out that R. Kelly song from my mind—I forget that it even exists. That is so embarrassing. That is so unreal that I even have a song with R. Kelly. I was so young too, which is crazy because I feel like I did that song when I just signed to that label. I was probably like 20.”

She continued to elaborate and agree with Sang, who suggested that she must have “lack[ed] a lot of control in that situation… if any.” Tinashe said, “You do, one thousand percent.”

Tinashe then transitioned to her thoughts about her collab with Chris Brown. She said, “Especially when it comes to singles. Like for example that song with Chris, that was a song that… we all wanted it to be this big moment—this big single. So I feel like in [the label’s] mind, they were like ‘You need the support.’ And [Chris] was like their biggest artist that they had on rhythmic radio at the time.”

She added, “I was like, ‘Well, this is a pop song so I really don’t feel like we should put Chris on it like that. I don’t like that. That doesn’t compute to me.'” According to Variety, the song “Player” failed to make any real noise on the charts. Since these two records, Tinashe has left RCA and is currently signed to Ricky Reed’s Nice Life Records, where she’s just released her new EP ‘BB/ANG3L.’

Following Tinashe’s feeling “embarrassed” comments going viral, Chris Brown caught wind of it all and ended up responding to No Jumper’s post on Instagram that was headlined, “Tinashe Regrets 2015 Collaborations With R. Kelly & Chris Brown: ‘That is So Embarrassing.’

Commenting under the post, Brown said, “Name 5 Tinashe songs or die… Everybody dead.” Then he said, “She full of dat evil. Shawty career is nonexistent. What’s more embarrassing is that she worked with all these people and not one of us could save her career.”

In addition to several fans taking up for Brown, fellow musician Joyner Lucas had his back and sent a post up about “No Chris Brown slander being tolerated.” He called out all of the “weirdo celebrities” coming after the singer, provoking him, and then playing the victim whenever he responds. He also took to his Instagram Story to call out Selena Gomez who went viral over her reactions to Brown’s nomination at the 2023 MTV VMAs. Lucas then issued a lengthy message in support of Brown, who then reposted the written PSA.

The post read: “N***az be secretly fans behind closed doors and listen to @ chrisbrownofficial music just as much as we do, but then go on a political hate campaign and take the position of bashing the n***a. Smh. These are the same people who advocates against bullying, and [want to be] treated fair, but then wanna sub bro and smear him in front of the world. I ain’t gonna watch it go down no more and not step in front of every bullet. Idgaf who you are or how many followers you weirdos got. We not doin that. Shout out to my bro for not losing his sanity at this point.”
