China To Censor & Implement Ban On Online Gaming With Foreigners

Per Taiwan News, the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) is pushing its political censorship to the extreme as they begin to roll out a new ban that will censor online gaming between gamers in China and foreigners.

On April 10, the country banned popular Nintendo social simulation game, ‘Animal Crossing,’ which featured messages reading “Free Hong Kong, revolution now,” and a scene mocking Chinese leader Xi Jinping.

The publication also notes that Chinese gamers used the game to vent about their griefs with the CCP and went on to make satirical content condemning the party’s failure to effectively handle the outbreak of the coronavirus.

Furthermore, the ban will prevent gamers from playing or chatting with anyone from any other country, and will arrive with increased protective measures to further monitor all online play.

In addition to the aforementioned new guidelines, other rules show that a gaming curfew (10PM to 8AM) will also be enacted for gamers aged under 18.

And in order slow down addiction to games, a new law will place a maximum dollar amount for gamers to spend towards games.
