The child who was caught urinating behind his mother’s car and was arrested by Senatobia Police officers has now been hit with a 3 month probation and is reportedly required to write a two page paper on Kobe Brant, according to Fox13.

As we previously reported back in August, the boy’s mother, Latonya Eason says everything went down when she stopped by an attorney’s office for advice. She says it wasn’t even 10 minutes but then suddenly an officer walked in and told her that he caught her 10-year-old son, Quantavious Eason, urinating behind her car.

“I was like, ‘Son, why did you do that?’ He said, ‘Mom, my sister said they ain’t got a bathroom in there.’ I was like, ‘Well, you knew better. You should have came and asked me if they had a restroom,’” Eason said. She then says the officer was going to give him a warning, but that’s when more cops showed up to the scene and that’s when things took a left turn and the child was arrested.

“Another officer came over there and was like, ‘Your son gotta get out of the car. He gotta be arrested because he can’t do that,” Eason said. “I started crying a little bit. They took me down there and got me out of the truck. I didn’t know what was happening,” Quantavious said. “I get scared and start shaking and thinking I’m going to jail.” Quantavious was taken to the police station, where he says he was held in a jail cell. His mother believes the officers went overboard in their response. “I’m just speechless right now because for one, I can’t believe it happened. Why would you arrest a 10-year-old kid?” Eason said.

Senatobia residents are now speaking out about the punishment the boy received. “I think it’s ridiculous,” one Senatobia resident said Tuesday. “I have two boys and that’s how I potty trained them.” “I think we should be focusing on things that are more important,” another resident shared. “There’s bigger issues to be concerned about than a 10-year-old urinating in public.” Carlos Moore who is representing the boy also released a statement saying, “he did not expose himself. There was no public restroom available and he went to the bathroom behind a car. Discreetly.”

After the boys arrest took place one of the officers was fired. Police Chief Richard Chandler also said several other officers would face discipline.

“It was an error in judgement for us to transport the child to the police station since the mother was present at the time as a reasonable alternative,” Chief Chandler said after the incident. “Mistakes like this are a reminder in this profession as to the continual need for training and refreshers on the various topics that we encounter each day.”
