The singer is reportedly seeking to become the sole conservator of her son’s estate due to his current physical and mental health issues. According to documents obtained by the New York Post, Allman is unable to express his preferences regarding the appointment of a conservator of his estate. Cher also fears that her son is going to spend any money he recieves on drugs which may eventually leave him with no assets to depend on. These concerns about Allman’s mental health and alleged addiction are not new, as he has reportedly dealt with similar issues in the past.

Allman’s divorce from his estranged wife, Marieangela King, also known as Queeny, adds another layer of complexity to the situation. In December 2022, King claimed in divorce documents that Cher had hired four men to kidnap Allman from a New York City hotel room as part of an intervention. This incident allegedly occurred a month prior. King further accused Cher of interfering with her son’s health management and restricting his location and accessibility.

Cher has continiously denied the kidnapping allegations made by her former daughter-in-law. “I’m a mother. This is my job — one way or another, to try to help my children. You do anything for your children. Whenever you can help them, you just do it because that’s what being a mother is. But it’s joy, even with heartache — mostly, when you think of your children, you just smile and you love them, and you try to be there for them,” she explained in a statement to PEOPLE.

Allman allegedly responded to his mother’s conservatorship request in a series of Instagram posts.
