Cher’s friends are said to be concerned about her relationship with Alexander ‘AE’ Edwards that they’re now reportedly hoping the “Believe” singer dumps him. As previously reported, the pair have been dating since September, much to the surprise of her fans, who were perplexed by the romance which many people assumed was a PR stunt at first. But as the relationship has continued to turn serious between the two, it’s clear that AE and Cher are, in fact, the real deal — and her friends aren’t happy about it.
“Cher has a lot of people worried for her right now,” a source told Radar Online. “She’s saying it’s her business who she dates and she’ll make her own decisions, but the warning signs are there for everyone to see.” The 76-year-old, who is 40 years older than the record label executive, recently gushed about her blossoming romance on “The Kelly Clarkson Show,” referring to her beau as “fabulous,” “very kind,” and “very smart,” which would indicate that Cher clearly isn’t worried about her romance with AE.
But according to insiders, her friends are worried that she’s fallen too fast for AE, who’d previously made headlines when his ex Amber Rose came forward and revealed how their relationship fell apart after she found out he had been cheating on her with multiple women. Now there appear to be concerns that the same could happen to Cher, as the insider continued, “Cher’s in way over her head as far as the vast majority of her friends are concerned. They want her to see this for what it is, a fun winter fling. They don’t want her to get carried away.”
Back in August 2021, Amber called out her former flame for his cheating ways in a series of posts on her Instagram Story, stressing that she was done with him for good after learning about the other women he had allegedly slept with while they were together. The two share baby boy Slash Electric Alexander together, but not even their child could keep the relationship in tact after Amber learned about AE’s secret double life, stressing that the women he’d been cheating with “can have him.”
“Y’all very much knew he was in a relationship with a baby and y’all decided to fu-k him anyway. I saw all the texts and DMs. Y’all were well aware but y’all don’t owe me loyalty so it’s whatever,” she wrote.
“I can’t be the only one fighting for my family anymore. I’ve been so loyal and transparent but I haven’t gotten the same energy in return. I’ll never say the girls name because I’m not in the business of ruining lives but y’all know who y’all are.”
