In new divorce documents filed by her adult son’s estranged wife, superstar singer Cher has been accused of hiring men to kidnap him!
According to Daily Mail, the 77-year-old legendary songstress had her own son, Elijah Blue Allman, 47, kidnapped from a hotel room while he was attempting to reconcile with his estranged wife, Marieangela King, 36, on their wedding anniversary. Cher has two children: Chaz Bono, 54, formerly Chastity and whom she welcomed with late singer-turned-politician Sonny Bono; and Elijah, her second son birthed from her second marriage with the late Rock great Gregg Allman.
The news outlet says King, whom Allman married in 2013 and then filed to divorce in 2021, filed a declaration to a Los Angeles County court amid her and Allman’s divorce, and in the documents, she alleged that the Oscar, Emmy, and Grammy winner was so worried about her son’s health, she hired men to have him kidnapped.
The outlet says Cher’s cause for concern is warranted as Allman has recently been pictured looking “disheveled at a different hotel, LA’s famed Chateau Marmont Hotel where he has been living for at least the past six months.” The outlet reports that Allman has since been admitted into rehab in Pasadena, California after he collapsed on the pavement near the hotel’s entrance.
At the time, a witness said, Allman “looked like he was dead, but he had in fact passed out. The staff picked him up and took him inside,” before he was placed into rehab.
In King’s divorce documents, filed four days after the alleged hired kidnapping, she said she and Allman spent 12 days in New York together, trying to work on their marriage, claiming, “Given the proper time I believe that we will reconcile.” However, it was all to no avail as their attempts were interrupted.
Allman’s estranged wife wrote, “On November 30, 2022, the night of our wedding anniversary, four people came to our hotel room and removed [Elijah] from our room. I was told by one of the four men who took him that they were hired by [Elijah’s] mother. I am currently unaware of my husband’s wellbeing or whereabouts,’ although she added that he was in ‘lockdown at a treatment facility that is undisclosed to me. I understand his family’s efforts to make sure he is well, and I want what is best for my husband.”

After the New York incident last November, Allman spent six months living at the Chateau Marmont, where hotel staff would regularly contact Cher over her son’s “apparent drugged-out appearance.”
Sources said, “Virtually every morning and afternoon Elijah could be seen in front of the hotel on the sidewalk either leaning against the wall or sitting on the sidewalk smoking. He would come out with a full cigarette and by the time he had finished it, he would be passed out. It always looked like it was dipped in something. He looked strung-out and messy like he was a homeless person living on the streets.”
Previously, Allman told Entertainment Tonight in 2014 that he started experimenting with drugs at 11, and that he has had a long battle with heroin addiction.
Eventually, Cher hired a caretaker to keep an eye on her son, but things are said to have reached a breaking point on September 14, when Cher planned an intervention with her son. But before it could happen, Chateau Marmont staff found Allman unresponsive on the pavement of the hotel entrance, as mentioned above. Two days later, police escorted Allman from the hotel to a rehab, for another stint.
