Welp, if you woke up this morning and saw the incorrect balance in your CHASE checking account, it was just a “technical issue,” according to the bank.

Some people reported that they were missing hundreds or even thousands of dollars from their bank accounts while others claimed they actually saw additional funds in their accounts. One customer hopped on Twitter and sent a tweet to CHASE saying, “WHERE IS OUR MONEY #chasebank @Chase? My wife wakes me up at 6:30 in the morning to tell me this is trending and I find our bank account is drained! Tell us what is going on right now. From last night to tonight, our account is drained. And your customer service is closed,” one man said in a since-deleted post. Another added, “missing over $600 from my account, what is going on?? #ChaseBank”
The biggest U.S. bank released a statement and blamed a “technical issue” for what it called “delayed updates.”
“We know some customers reporting seeing incorrect balances in their checking account overnight,” Chase tweeted Sunday.
The company added,
“This was caused by a technical issue that delayed updates on what displayed on Chase Mobile & Chase Online. We resolved this issue as of 9 AM ET and accounts now show current balances,” Chase said.
