As we previously shared, Chantel and Jackie had a full-blown mother-daughter showdown on the 11th episode of the ‘BBWLA‘ 12th season. On the episode, Chantel attempted to confront her mother about their rocky relationship and things went left.

Chantel later took to her Instagram with an emotional open letter. She broke down the things that viewers didn’t see behind the scenes. She also stood on firm on her decision to call out her mother and the drama in their family.

Chantel Christie Releases Statement After Shocking Mother-Daughter Fight On ‘Basketball Wives Los Angeles’

Chantel posted a statement that began:

“I’ll start by saying—if you’ve never dealt with a toxic mother, then you truly have no idea what it feels like. As painful as it’s been to watch these moments of my life play out on TV, I know my younger self is proud of the woman who finally stood up for herself. The truth is—this dynamic isn’t rare. It happens in more families than we’d like to admit. Narcissism. Jealousy. Lies. Lack of accountability. Gaslighting. Abuse. Hiding. Assault. Etc. We’re just taught to keep it in house and suffer in silence. I chose to break that cycle.

What you witnessed was a masterclass in narcissism—someone lighting the fire behind the scenes, then walking away so you look like the arsonist. I know what really happened on and off camera—all season long. So no—the internet cannot bully me into submission. Y’all know the tv character, I know the mother.

She touched my arm, I pushed her off of me, she swung. Plain and simple. It’s unfortunate things played out this way, and I wish it never happened, but if you knew our history then you’d know this was a long time coming.”

Chantel continued in a second Story post:

“I may not be proud of all my choices this season, but I’m also not ashamed. This is my real life. And I doubt anyone judging me lives a perfect one. I see the hate mail. I see the judgment. But I also see all the messages that say: ‘I’ve dealt with this too.’ And, ‘This reminds me so much of my situation.’

To those of you with heart and understanding—I see you. And I appreciate your vulnerability. To those of you who’ve met me with threats, vile statements and extreme judgment—may you never understand my plight. Celebrating my darkest moments says more about you than it ever will about me.

I’ve always been misunderstood. And this chapter of my life is no different. But I will answer to God—not imperfect strangers who’ve never walked a step in my shoes. I will keep my head up, and my peace in focus, as I continue to grow—as a mother, a wife & a woman.”

Chantel Christie Calls Mother Jackie Christie Her ‘First Bully’ While Taking Accountability For Viral Altercation On ‘Basketball Wives LA’

While speaking with Carlos King on his ‘Reality With The King’ show, Chantel Christie called her mother her “first bully” and recalled their viral and shocking physical altercation on the latest season of ‘Basketball Wives Los Angeles.’ On the July 31 episode of King’s show, Chantel said:

“I’ve been through a lot experiences in my life and that doesn’t excuse my behavior. It doesn’t. I absolutely [hold full accountability for my behavior]. When I got to that door, I could have and should have, turned around and walked out of it. 1,000 percent. When I seen in real life outside of these cameras — you’re not going to take accountability. You’re not going to acknowledge what you’ve been doing all season long. Right now, to the outside world we both look like fools. I just need to go. I couldn’t do that. For the first time in my life, I’m toe-to-toe with who I feel like was my first bully. And I’m not backing down. Something in me—I was just spiraling and that’s what you see play out.

People think that because I haven’t come out and said, ‘I apologize to my mom,’ or this, this, and that, that I think that I was right in the altercation, or in what happened. There are plenty of instances and times during this season where I was wrong, where I could’ve removed myself, where I shouldn’t have engaged, absolutely. I understand that. I’m not delusional. I know it looks that way and I get it. It’s fair. You guys can only go off of what you see. I get it.

But, I know what I have experienced since the start of filming this show. That’s what people fail to realize. When I’m on the show and talking about her taking accountability and apologizing, I’m talking about stuff that’s happening right now, at my big age, at 32, in Los Angeles, on these cameras, off these cameras. I’m talking about what’s on this season. I wasn’t talking about y childhood. Now, if we want to tell the backstory, and you want to understand better how I came to this place of not being super close to her, we can do that.”
