‘Chad Wheeler’s Girlfriend Pleads For Him To Be Put Back In Custody, “I Am Not Safe”

Former Seattle Seahawks’ Chad Wheeler is currently out of custody following a horrific attack on his girlfriend, who does not feel safe now that he is free.

Wheeler choked his girlfriend unconscious after she reportedly refused to bow down to him. The victim wants him back behind bars to avoid a repeat attack.

“I want you to know that I believe that as long as (Wheeler) is not in custody, I am not safe,” she said in a statement according to KOMO News. “Chad never called the police (after the assault) even though he thought I was dead. Now, Chad is out of custody staying in a hotel watching this play out on social media. This current status places my safety at risk, and I do not believe that a protective order or a condition of release is sufficient to keep me safe.”

It’s reported that the 6-foot-7, 310-pound footballer will remain free pending a February 11 hearing; however, he has been ordered to wear a GPS-equipped ankle monitor and remain confined to his home and away from the victim. After his arrest last week, Wheeler took to Twitter to announce him stepping away from the game. He wrote, “It is time for me to walk away from football and get the help I need to never again pose a threat to another. I cannot express my sorrow or remorse enough. I am truly ashamed.”

Chad has pled not guilty to the attack.
