“I’m so sorry to disappoint all of you once again. I’m working really hard to build back my strength, but touring can be very difficult even when you’re 100%,” she said. “It’s not fair to you to keep postponing the shows, and even though it breaks my heart, it’s best that we cancel everything now until I’m really ready to be back on stage again.”

“I want you all to know, I’m not giving up… and I can’t wait to see you again,” she added.

The Singer first revealed her condition in December

back in December, Dion revealed that she was suffering from stiff person syndrome, which is a neurological condition that affects the body and causes severe muscle spasms, causing a person to almost become a human statue. SPS can be triggered by simple things like loud noises or light touch. It is believed to be caused by an autoimmune disorder with the most severe cases leading to the inability to walk and hunched posture.

The Mayo Clinic states that Stiff Person Syndrome is “a rare disorder of motor function characterized by involuntary stiffness of axial muscles and superimposed painful muscle spasms, which are often induced by startle or emotional stimuli.”

Back in December, Dion spoke out about her battle,

“The spasms affect every aspect of my daily life, sometimes causing difficulties when I walk and not allowing me to use my vocal cords to sing the way I’m used to,” she said. “I have to admit it’s been a struggle. All I know is singing, it’s what I’ve done all my life.”

The condition is also affected her ability to talk and sing. The condition is extremely rare only affects one or two people out of every million.

“While we’re still learning about this rare condition, we now know this is what’s been causing all of the spasms that I’ve been having. Unfortunately, these spasms affect every aspect of my daily life, sometimes causing difficulties when I walk and not allowing me to use my vocal cords to sing the way I’m used to,” Dion shared to Instagram.

Celine did not share any planned reschedule dates.
