Cedrick Cotton From 90s R&B group ‘Ideal’ Stabbed To Death

Cedrick “Swab” Cotton, who was a member of the popular 90’s R&B group ‘Ideal,’ has sadly passed away after being stabbed multiple times.

The incident occurred in Houston on Thursday, he was just 46-years-old. As of now, police are looking for a Black male in his mid to late ’20s.

Cotton’s mother, Delores Floyd, said he would often visit the local Fondren Food Market where he was murdered in broad daylight.

“He’d ride his little bike, go there, get a quick cigarette. The next thing I know, I get this call and I heard people… ‘He comes here every day. He doesn’t bother anybody. He’s a good guy,’” Floyd said to ABC 13 News.

Loved ones and fans flocked to the food mart after the murder, and Cedrick’s uncle, William King, recognized him as the victim.

“I saw him just lying there. I couldn’t do nothing but just cry last night,” King said.

Cotton was known for the R&B group ‘Ideal’, which debuted around 1999. The motive for the murder is currently unclear, but Cotton’s mother is begging the murder suspect to turn himself in.

“Whoever did this, turn yourself in. You know, it’s time out for this foolishness. Killing people is not the right thing to do,” she added.
