The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention has issued a warning that rodents will become very aggressive while searching for food.

The New York Post reports rodents are desperately searching for food since everyone is stuck at home following stay-at-home orders and may become aggressive when the lockdown orders are lifted. The lack of food has even caused rats and other rodents to resort to cannibalism in order to survive in the streets.
“Community-wide closures have led to a decrease in food available to rodents, especially in dense commercial areas. Some jurisdictions have reported an increase in rodent activity as rodents search for new sources of food. Environmental health and rodent control programs may see an increase in service requests related to rodents and reports of unusual or aggressive rodent behavior,”

Residents and business owners of restaurants are encouraged to seal holes so the rodents don’t have access to garbage.
