According to the New York Post, the Center for Disease Control and Prevention says the best way to prevent the spread of the virus is to stay home for the upcoming Christmas and Hannakuh season. However, they stated if you must travel, it is recommended to get tested before and after your holiday travel plans.

“If you are traveling, consider getting tested with a viral test 1-3 days before your trip. Also consider getting tested with a viral test 3-5 days after your trip and reduce non-essential activities for a full 7 days after travel, even if your test is negative. If you don’t get tested, consider reducing non-essential activities for 10 days after travel.”

CDC official Dr. Cindy Friedman told the outlet that it is recommended for the public to postpone their holiday travel plans and to stay home due to the increased number of cases since Thanksgiving.

‘’Travel is a door-to-door experience that can spread virus during the journey and also into communities that travelers visit or live,”

The center recently updated its guidelines for quarantine and states the quarantine period can be shortened to 7-10 days if they show no symptoms and test negative for the virus.
