Carole Baskin revealed that her ex-husband, Don Lewis, is reportedly alive in Costa Rica despite being declared legally dead in 2002.

Her 2021 interview with ITV surfaced online; apparently, no one knew until the video went viral on social media. Baskin said in the interview that her ex-husband is alive and well since the Department of Homeland Security was allegedly in contact with him.
“One of the really exciting things that came out of ‘Tiger King 2’ is that they produced a letter from Homeland Security, and it says that a special agent in charge with the FBI at Homeland Security reached out to the sheriff’s detective Jorge Fernandez, which means this had to have happened after 2002 because Homeland Security wasn’t even around until 2002,” she explained. In a blog post, Baskin and her husband, Howard, also addressed Lewis’ disappearance, as the New York Post reported.

‘And for everyone who still wants to believe that Carole killed Don, then please explain to us why you think armchair detectives, or you are better informed than the Special Agent in Charge at the FBI in this Homeland Security Document which says ‘Don Lewis is currently alive and well in Costa Rica.
After learning about Lewis’ being reportedly alive, several Twitter users were stunned as many accused Baskin of being involved in his disappearance.
I always figured he was either Alive and on the run or some of his associates killed him.

Don Lewis disappeared in 1997 when he married Baskin, and she claimed she didn’t hear from him again during the Netflix documentary “Tiger King.” Baskin remarried in 2004 to Howard Baskin, and Lewis was declared legally dead in 2002.
There were several theories regarding Lewis’ disappearance, including the speculation that Baskin allegedly fed him to one of her tigers. Joe Exotic also expressed those thoughts in the documentary and accused her of being involved in a murder-for-hire plot. Lewis’ family also had similar thoughts and said Baskin might have been involved.
Baskin has continued to deny the claims and even addressed them after “Tiger King” became an international sensation during the coronavirus pandemic.
