A neighbor told NBC Connecticut, “It’s so close to home. It’s really frustrating,” a neighbor said.

“This incident is still being investigated by the Rocky Hill Police Department Detective Division,” Rocky Hill Police Department said. “If anyone has any information regarding this incident is asked to contact Detective Matthew Seguin at 860-258-2047 or at mseguin@Rockyhillct.gov”]

Police noted that the man’s intervention in the attempted carjacking could have gone terribly wrong.

“Thank God that he wasn’t seriously hurt,” Rocky Hill Police Sgt. Jeffrey Foss-Rugan said, according to NBC Connecticut. “We’re seeing a lot of these incidents throughout the state and the country that people are intervening, and the suspect may have a weapon.”

Carjacking is a serious criminal offense in most jurisdictions, and the specific laws surrounding it can vary somewhat from place to place. However, in general, carjacking involves the use of force, threat of force, or intimidation to take someone’s vehicle without their consent. This is a form of robbery and is considered a violent crime.

In the United States, for example, carjacking is considered a federal crime under the federal anti-carjacking statute, which was passed in 1992. This law makes it a federal offense to use force, violence, or intimidation to steal a motor vehicle, and provides for significant penalties for those convicted of carjacking. The severity of the penalties can depend on a number of factors, including the use of a weapon, the amount of force used, and whether anyone was injured or killed during the commission of the crime.

In addition to federal law, each state in the US also has its own laws regarding carjacking, and the penalties for the offense can vary widely depending on the state. In general, however, carjacking is considered a serious felony offense, and those convicted of the crime can face lengthy prison sentences, significant fines, and other penalties. #Socialites would you have did the same thing as the homeowner?
