It’s been a tough couple of weeks for nail artist Jenny Bui. After receiving the news that her nail salon went up in flames before it even opened, and learning that the crime was done by her own husband, Bui has found the strength to speak out.

In an interview with ABC7, Bui who is a nail artist to the stars including Cardi B, talked about how heartbreaking it was to see all her hard work be wiped away last month. However, through pain and tears, she shares how she’s able to come to terms with what happened and still stand by her husband’s side.

“Give my husband one more one more chance, he’s a good man,” the Bronx salon owner said in an emotional plea to viewers during the interview. Jenny said her husband, Nguyen Bui, “was stressed and I didn’t question him because there’s too much going on already.” His lawyer told the outlet that he was severely stressed from working from 2 in the afternoon until 4 the next morning. To make matters worse, he had a few drinks which resulted in a mental breakdown.

“He wasn’t looking for financial gain when he lit that match, so there’s no fraud here, it’s just frustration, it’s just that human thing where you just meltdown,” attorney Darnell Crosland explained.

Although Bui lost over $100,000 in supplies like the Swarovski crystals used on Cardi B’s nails, the sweet nail technician says she’s keeping her head high.

Speaking on her plans following the tragedy, she said, “I try my best to rebuild because I love my community,” Bui said. As for her husband, she said “A lot of people in the comments say divorce him, but I won’t.”

As we previously reported, Jenny Bui posted a GoFundMe account where she detailed what happened. It read, “Hi my name is Jenny I own the nail salon located at 3820 E Tremont in the Bronx, I was currently moving into this new location when I received a call the morning of September 28 from my store neighbors saying my nail salon has just burned down. I just had landed from Canada because I had to fly out because my brother was very sick and to rush to my business and seeing it all gone.”

She continued, “I’ve been remolding and fixing this location to celebrate my grand opening on October 27th and because of this tragedy I lost it all, I couldn’t even file for insurance because I wasn’t open for business yet so sadly all my hard work and investment on all my beauty products got all burned down , NO INSURANCE NO RECOVERY on anything, I am so heartbroken and sad everything I worked hard for all taken away, I am asking for help to rebuild my dream salon and get my business and family to have faith again thank you, everyone, any little counts.”

Her husband was charged with arson last week over the incident. Although the criminal case will move forward, Bui will be rebuilding her store. But in the meantime, she’s still teaching nail art to aspiring technicians while working on a plan to rebuild.
