Reflecting on her journey, Cardi B explained to the crowd that she’s been underestimated throughout her career, similar to Harris’ career path from attorney general to vice president of the United States. “Just like Kamala Harris, I have been the underdog. I’ve been underestimated. My success has been belittled and discredited,” she said. Cardi B continued to explain how women “have to work 10 times harder, perform 10 times better,” and people still question their success.

Cardi did clarify that she didn’t plan to vote this year, criticizing the Biden administration for funding multiple conflicts. Variety reported that Harris’ proposed economic policies, including her plan to tackle price gouging. “I did not have any faith in any candidate until [Harris] joined the race and said the things I wanted to hear,” she explained.

“Things I wanted to see next in this country. I believe in every word that comes out of her mouth; she’s passionate, she’s compassionate, she shows empathy, and most of all, she is not delusional.”
