A little fun and jokes with fans took a turn, and now Cardi B is speaking out to set the record straight.
In case you missed it, the rap superstar hopped on live with her fans and expressed how shocked she was that all the 3XL shirts from her latest merch collection sold out so quickly. The shirts are part of the rollout for her long-awaited sophomore effort, Am I The Drama?, which also includes limited edition CD box sets available for preorder.

During her live session, she reacted to the 3XL selling out in just 20 minutes. “We really underestimated the box sets,” Cardi said near the 20-second mark in the video linked above. “So the box sets are completely sold out, especially because you fat fucks—clearly you guys are fat as fuck, no Chick-fil-A for y’all.”
Clearly, it was a joke, but some fans online tried to rip her apart. However, Cardi has something to say to folks who keep trying to drag her online:
Here’s what she had to say:
Cardi B Clears the Air and Reminds Fans It’s Not That Deep
Cardi wasn’t here for the fake outrage. She let people know that if they could joke about her body, she could joke back. “It’s not that serious…. People make fun of my BBL all the time,” she reminded critics. For her, this was just playful banter with her supporters—nothing malicious, nothing fatphobic.
This isn’t the first time Cardi has faced online backlash over her humor, but she’s never been one to let the internet’s opinion run her life. Whether it’s music, fashion, or clapbacks, Cardi’s personality has always been loud, unapologetic, and 100% her own.
Cardi B’s Big Return to Music
Beyond the social media noise, the fact remains—Cardi’s merch is flying off shelves because fans are hyped for her long-awaited second album. Her debut album, Invasion of Privacy, dropped back in 2018 and became a cultural phenomenon. It earned her a Grammy for Best Rap Album, went triple platinum, and gave us back-to-back hits like “Bodak Yellow,” “I Like It,” and “Be Careful.”
Now, six years later, she’s ready to step back into the spotlight. Am I The Drama? arrives on Sept. 19, and if her merch sales are any sign, it’s already a hot ticket. Fans are expecting bangers, bold visuals, and, of course, more of the raw personality that’s kept her at the top of the game.
