Cardi B And Joe Biden Talk 2020 Presidential Election, Police Brutality & More In New Interview
In a new interview in partnership with Elle magazine, Cardi B chopped it up with Presumptive Democratic presidential nominee Joe Biden where the two talk about several things including the upcoming presidential election, the coronavirus pandemic, and police brutality.

The two kicked things off by discussing how important it is to get Donald Trump out of office. Cardi explained via Zoom: “I have a whole list of things that I want and I wish and I desire for our next president to root for us,” she said. “But first and first, I just want Trump out,” the rapper said. She went on to say, “I don’t want to be lied to. We’re living in a pandemic right now and I just want answers. I want to know when this is over, I want to go back to my job, I want to be able to go outside, I want to not feel like I’m trapped in my home. But I don’t want somebody to lie to me and tell me that it’s OK to go outside, it’s OK not to wear a mask…I want a timeline for us to get better. I want a president to tell us the steps for us to get better.”
In response, Biden stated there is “no reason” why Americans can’t have “all of that.” Deeper into the conversation, Cardi brought up the protests in support of social justice to Biden, who clearly understood the movement. Cardi added, “We are asking for fairness, and we are asking for justice,” she said. “That is all. I feel like everything people are asking for is getting interpreted in a very different way. No, it’s simple: We just want justice. We want to feel like Americans,” Complex quotes.
Biden commended Cardi as well as the younger generation for taking action and being vocal on important issues.
“You’re the smartest, the best educated, the least prejudiced, and the most engaged generation in history. And you’re going to change things,” he said.
