Controversial commentator Candace Owens didn’t have great things to say about singer Lizzo in the past but she has since changed her tune.

Ownes is now praising the “About Damn Time” artist for putting in hard work in the gym, sticking to her commitment to shed weight the right school way. On the latest episode of Candace, the conservative podcaster said, “I have to give it to my girl Lizzo. I put pressure on [Lizzo] because I believe in her… I believe Lizzo is incredibly talented… They tried to make fat her brand–and I found that to be very problematic.”

She continued, “Congrats to Lizzo. Unblock me!” Candace continues. “We can work out together!”

Candace Owens’ Past Comments About Lizzo:

In earlier discussions, particularly during her appearance on “The Joe Budden Podcast,” Owens was vocal about her critical stance toward Lizzo’s public persona.

At that time, she accused Lizzo of eliciting sympathy through her appearance, saying, “I don’t like the game that people play where they do something that is so obviously outrageous, like, you know, Lizzo in a thong shaking your a** cheeks.” She continued with her critique, labeling the behavior as “disgusting” and “perverted,” questioning the appropriateness of such displays, especially in public spaces where families are present.

Owens elaborated, “You know what that was. This is a. Disgusting, b. Perverted, and people take their kids to the games. Is there no space that’s safe? [And] then she’s like, ‘if you don’t like it, that’s your problem.’ Like no, you are being problematic. And now you’re playing the game where you do something outrageous, and then, when we outrage, you pretend that we’re the crazy ones. I’m not dealing with that. Stop gaslighting me, okay?”

In response to Owens’ comments, Lizzo seemed to address the situation, stating, “Hey everyone, it’s come to my attention that some of you think I have thick skin. I don’t. I never have. I never will. Everything you say deeply, deeply hurts me, affects me, keeps me up at night; you have to be nice to me. That’s the deal moving forward, okay?” She added, “I literally just be minding my business please keep my name out ya mouf unless it’s something positive or real… pls n thank u.”

Despite the negative attention, Lizzo has been open about how such comments have impacted her. However, it appears she has recently redirected her focus toward more positive pursuits: staying healthy and positive for herself and her fans.
