Tanya Pardazi, 21, died from her injuries on Tuesday after her parachute failed to open during her solo skydiving session. Skydive Toronto released a statement on its official Facebook page. It said Pardazi “released a quickly rotating main parachute at a low altitude without the time/altitude required for the reserve parachute to inflate.”
“The jumper was a welcomed recent addition to the skydiving community and will be missed amongst the student’s new friends and fellow jumpers of Skydive Toronto Inc. The team at Skydive Toronto Inc has been profoundly affected by this accident as they have refined their student training program for over 50 years.”
Pardazi was a TikTok influencer with 95,000 followers and a philosophy student at the University of Toronto. Friends said she had just finished taking solo skydiving classes, which was her first time jumping alone.

Additionally, she was a semi-finalist at the Miss Teen Canada pageant in 2017. Her friend, Melody Ozgoli, explained to CTV that the influencer always wanted to try new things since she was known to be adventurous. ‘Tanya had an interest in anything that was new and adventurous. Life was too boring for her, and she was always trying to do something adventurous. She really lived every second to the fullest,” she said.
‘This is the biggest shock to us. It’s very hard to process. It’s been a couple days, but we still don’t believe it.’
Her fans also expressed condolences to the influencer’s family and said she was an inspiration.
