Canada Officially Labels The Proud Boys A Terrorist Group While The US Does Nothing
Although the brunt of extreme terrorism has taken place on US soil, Canada has gone ahead and one upped America as they officially label the Proud Boys as a terrorist group. America — what’s good?
On Wednesday (Feb. 3), the Toronto Star reported that the Canadian government has defined the far-right group, whose members played a role in last month’s fatal attack on the US Capitol, as a “terrorist entity.” It’s stated that one of the group’s founders, Gavin McInnes — who is also co-founder of Vice, is Canadian. Now, the group will join the ranks of al-Qaeda, ISI and al-Shabab, other entities that Canada has determined to be among the country’s “most serious threats.”

It’s reported that the group’s new labeling could have legal and financial implications, such as having their assets seized and harsher penalties to face related to terrorism. Additionally, any financing of the organization or purchasing of their merchandise could be considered a crime. Meanwhile, the US government has only charged one other leader, Joe Biggs, for his role in the Capitol riot.

I can now confirm that in addition to the Proud Boys, the Canadian government has listed two other white supremacist/neo-Nazi groups: Atomwaffen Division and The Base.
Eight al-Qaeda and/or Daesh affiliates also listed. #cdnpoli
