It was revealed today that Louis Arriola’s NYLA Media Group has appointed Cameron Mitchell as the company’s CEO.

Mitchell will oversee all aspects of NYLA’s operations including strategic planning, finance, business development, business affairs, creative, and production and marketing of NYLA content.

Louis Arriola is the founder and Chairman of NYLA Media Group. Taryn Sims Arriola will continue to oversee the company’s development and production activities as Head of Production, while Jadyn Arriola serves as NYLA’s Head of Branding.

The accelerated push into development and production along with several key expansionary moves in the Dominican Republic orchestrated by Arriola, reinforce NYLA’s commitment to creating new, original content and signal the studio’s intent on being a major supplier of smart, provocative, quality entertainment.

Current NYLA projects include Millennium Films’ ”Rambo: Last Blood”, the latest installment of the iconic “Rambo” franchise starring Sylvester Stallone, which Louis Arriola is an executive producer; and “American Cherry” – the psychological thriller/romance starring Sarah May Sommers (Quentin Tarantino’s “Once Upon a Time in Hollywood”), Hart Denton (“Riverdale”) and Leonor Varela (“Blade II”), which just finished shooting in Arkansas. Marcella Cytrynowicz directed the film from a screenplay she wrote herself.

With a story-driven purpose, NYLA Media Group opens its doors to develop, produce, and source material that fit its brand, a brand that’s driven by narrative first, followed by transmedia potential and, finally, the ability to execute production in its owned-and-operated state of the art studio in the Dominican Republic, opening in 2020.

“We are very excited to make Cameron’s relationship with NYLA official as we enter what we believe will be a significant expansionary period for the company,” said Arriola. “The addition of Cameron as our CEO strengthens the company’s position in an unrelenting marketplace that requires the best, brightest and most passionate executives to move ahead and fulfill visions. Cameron brings tremendous strength as a seasoned entertainment executive with passion and vision for current projects, including very smart ideas centered around social impact content. One of his first orders of business is to make sure inclusion riders are in all NYLA projects.”

Mitchell added: “I am thrilled to be working with Louis, Taryn and the NYLA team as we continue working to deepen our relationships with the creative community and increasingly focus on bringing new film and television production forward, particularly focusing on social impact, social justice, and diversity in our work and products.”

Taryn Sims Arriola said, “As Head of Production, I welcome Cameron’s insight and support and look forward to the disruption we can bring to social justice and entertainment.”

“The restructuring reflects how the industry is working today,” added Arriola. “Now NYLA can better leverage its capital in a more efficient manner, which means we can invest and collaborate on more films, and explore disruptive projects. Our initial meetings with studios, production companies, and agencies have been great, validating our approach and showing the great number of opportunities that are open to us.”

NYLA creates and partners with established and up-and-coming talent to develop and produce high-concept narratives for worldwide distribution. As such, the company is building transmedia 360 properties, producing and publishing content for all platforms, including film, television, games, and e-sports.

Having experienced success in the Telecom, Regenerative Clinics, and Stem Cell Research Labs industries, entrepreneur Louis Arriola founded NYLA Media Group as a media company that develops, produces, and publishes intellectual properties for transmedia execution. In addition to its own IPs, NYLA partners with the creative community-at-large to finance and produce stories that engage and represent global audiences, while driving strong ROI for itself and partners.

Previous film credits for Arriola include “Will to Love”, starring Keisha Knight Pulliam, Marques Houston, and DrayaMichelle; “A Weekend with The Family”, starring Marques Houston and Karrueche Tran; “Only For One Night”, also starring Brian White, Karrueche Tran, and Angelique Pereira; as well as  “Howard High”; “Boy Bye”; and “Up North.”

Before joining NYLA Media Group as CEO, Cameron Mitchell founded and ran management company Curated By Media. He previously worked over ten years as a Motion Picture Agent, and almost 20 years in entertainment, representing actors, directors, writers, representing clients including Gabrielle Union and RZA, to Reginald Hudlin, Melina Matsoukas, Common, Jordan Peele, and Mike Epps. Mitchell started in the UTA mailroom and worked as an agent at ICM and CAA.
