California Reportedly Suing Tesla For Allegedly Running A “Racially Segregated” Workplace & Discriminating Against Black Employees

Tesla was sued by the state of California on Wednesday over allegations that it discriminated against black employees and operated a “racially segregated workplace.”

The suit contains allegations that Tesla supervisors and workers at its Fremont, California, location used racial slurs like the N-word, “monkey toes,” “porch monkey” and “hood rat,” according to a document of the suit collected by The Post.

Black employees also stated they saw racist graffiti all over the factory, including terms like “all monkeys work outside,” “fuck [N-words]” and “hang [N-words]” next to a drawing of a noose.

According to the statement, Housing chief Kevin Kish stated the suit was founded on complaints from hundreds of Tesla workers.

“[We] found evidence that Tesla’s Fremont factory is a racially segregated workplace where Black workers are subjected to racial slurs and discriminated against in job assignments, discipline, pay, and promotion creating a hostile work environment,” Kish shared.

“Tesla strongly opposes all forms of discrimination and harassment and has a dedicated Employee Relations team that responds to and investigates all complaints,” the company said, adding that the alleged misconduct occurred from 2015 to 2019.
