California Man Sits In Line For 36 Hours To Purchase Playstation 5 On Black Friday
Tyler Lopez, a 20-year-old Dublin, California man, sat in line at a local GameStop for 36 hours to purchase a brand new Playstation 5 on Black Friday.
On Wednesday night, starting at 8 p.m., Lopez was the first person in the line that wrapped along the Dublin GameStop. Being so, when the store opened at 7 a.m. on Friday for eager customers, he was able to grab one of only two PS5s sold at the location.

On Friday morning after securing a console, Lopez said it was “definitely relieving” to leave the store with one in hand. He added, “The console itself was already good enough, but now I get to be on the news. Even better!” During the overnight wait, three Dublin PD officers brought customers muffins and hot chocolate, leaving Lopez’s father, Rodney, to add, “That was above and beyond. We were pretty cold and pretty tired at that point but it was really nice of them to do it.”
In addition to the two PS5s sold at the location, the four Xbox Series X consoles the store had, also sold out within minutes. One Xbox customer, Morgan Swanger, stated his plans on reselling the console, “Just planning on selling it, making a quick 300 dollars.” He added that he expects to sell the $540 console for at least $850 online.

Pretty cool of Dublin PD. They brought muffins and hot chocolate to the guys waiting through the night outside @GameStop. This is video taken by Tyler’s dad, who waited with him part of the time. #BlackFriday pic.twitter.com/eGrnFziu3m
