The tragic incident that took place in Rocklin, California, has left the community in mourning. A kind-hearted man, whose identity remains unknown, lost his life while trying to help a family of ducks cross the road. Eyewitnesses reported that the man had parked his car and was pushing the ducks toward the safety of the roadside to make sure they weren’t going to be hit by any vehicles, which is when he was struck by a car himself. The driver has been described as a 17-year-old girl who has been fully cooperating with authorities, and no charges have been pressed against her yet.
The man’s act of kindness and actions have since led many to leave flowers and rubber ducks at the site of the accident in an effort to pay tribute to his selflessness. Witnesses, including a 12-year-old boy named William Wimsatt, have shared their accounts of how the man helped the ducks get up on the curb before he was hit. His shoes and one sock were left on the side of the road after an incoming vehicle struck him with full force, it was said.
