According to ABC News, police responded to a call on August 19 after a witness recognized the distress gestures and alerted authorities. Officers later confirmed that domestic violence was involved in the incident.

When asked to stand for a pat down, the suspect attempted to flee but was stopped by police. He was later identified as 38-year-old John Palombi. Officers discovered that he had an active warrant and was carrying a stun gun. Palombi was arrested and booked into the Alhambra Police Department Jail.
