OMG! A California man was recently arrested for lewd acts after being accused of groping and recording children at a water park in Buena Park, CA.

A 44-year-old Norwalk man named Daniel Alvarez has been arrested after an incident at the Knott’s Soak City water park on July 25. According to Buena Park Police Department officials, Alvarez was accused of groping a child and also recording other minors at the park. Authorities claimed the child “felt the suspect grabbing [them] from behind” while in the wave pool.
Police added that the child, who was at the park with other children from a summer camp, was allegedly touched by Alvarez in “[their] private area.” Employees at the park told police that other people at the park also accused the California man of taking “underwater video of children,” and “taking photos of [other] minors.

Following the events, teenagers who witnessed the lewd and inappropriate behavior from the suspect immediately notified nearby lifeguards and security guards at the park. Park personnel then reported the incidents to local police, who arrested the suspect at the park that same day.
The California man was booked into the Theo Lacy Facility, and two days later he was released. Meanwhile, the case has been submitted to the Orange County District Attorney’s Office, where possible charges may be filed related to sexual assault and lewd acts.
While speaking with ABC 7 Eyewitness News about the California man’s lewd acts, one of the teenagers who witnessed the events said they followed the suspect into a bathroom and had an awkward and “sickening” encounter with him.
The teen said, “He was way too comfortable. Whenever I walked into the bathroom he greeted me. He didn’t say anything, he just nodded his head… It was completely normal to him and that’s what is even more sickening.”
Another teen who spoke with the news outlet added, “He just kept looking over at me, and he kept trying to get to where he could see my body and me in my bathing suit. It was just a really scary experience.”
