California Man Arrested For Living In Chicago Airport For 3 Months, Feared Flying Amid COVID-19

Aditya Singh, a 36-year-old Los Angeles, California man, has been arrested for living in a Chicago airport for three months. He feared for his life trying to fly amid the COVID-19 pandemic.

Singh, who lived inside Chi-Town’s O’Hare International Airport terminal for 90 days undetected, arrived to the airport after flying from Los Angeles on October 19, and lived there until January 16, 2021. It’s reported that he remained undetected by using an airport worker’s credentials he found, and by surviving “largely from other passengers giving him food.”

Singh’s cover was blown when two United Airlines employees confronted him about his work status on Saturday (Jan. 16). When he showed them the work ID, which admitted to taking on October 26 after finding it in Terminal 3, the employees called 911 and they arrested him later that evening. Singh, who has zero priors, is being charged with felony criminal trespass to a restricted area of an airport and misdemeanor theft. His bail has been set at $10,000, and if released from jail, he’s to wear an ankle monitor. Additionally, he’s not allowed to fly home during the case, which means he must protect himself from the virus in jail.
