California Exceeds 4,200 COVID-19 Cases, Hitting New Single-Day Record

As  California braces to reopen its economy, Coronavirus cases city’s to rise with the state hitting an all time daily high of 4,200 cases!

From Friday barbershops, nail salons, massage therapists and tattoo parlors will be opening their doors despite the increasing infection rates. On Wednesday alone, California reported 4,291 new COVID-19 cases, which is a new single-day record and the first time that California has hit 4,000 since the beginning of the pandemic. 2,129 of those cases are from Los Angeles which has been the center of the outbreak.

Gov. Gavin Newsom recently ordered all Californians to wear face masks in public.

“Simply put, we are seeing too many people with faces uncovered — putting at risk the real progress we have made in fighting the disease,” he said in a statement.

“California’s strategy to restart the economy and get people back to work will only be successful if people act safely and follow health recommendations.”

In the past five weeks Ventura County has seen a 75%, increase in hospitalizations, and Orange County has experienced a 76% increase in intensive care unit hospitalizations
