California County Fining Residents $1K For Violating Face Mask Order
As we previously reported on Tuesday, Los Angeles Mayor Eric Garcetti announced an order requiring all residents to wear a face covering when visiting the majority of essential businesses. The move was made in an effort to not only protect workers but also to slow the spread of the coronavirus.

Effective this Friday, residents must wear a mask, whether it’s a bandanna or other type of covering over their noses and mouths when entering essential stores that are open for business. Workers must wear face coverings, which business owners must either provide or reimburse workers for buying.
Meanwhile, this already went into effect for Residents in Riverside County on Sunday. Riverside Sheriff Chad Bianco said residents could face a fine of $1,000 if they do not wear a mask or violate any other order. “This is a valid order and enforceable by fine, imprisonment or both,” he said in a Monday video statement. “However, I need to make it perfectly clear to all residents of Riverside County we will not be setting up a police state and this is not a declaration of martial law in Riverside County.”
“While this order does have potential criminal and civil consequences, that is the last thing I want to happen while we deal with this crisis,” Bianco added.
He urged folks to abide by the facemask mandate voluntarily while letting them know that no vehicular checkpoints or driver stoppages are planned because a resident is not wearing a facemask.
