O.J. Simpson has passed away at the age of 76. His family announced his death in a statement to his social media this Thursday. If read, “On April 10th, our father, Orenthal James Simpson, succumbed to his battle with cancer. He was surrounded by his children and grandchildren. During this time of transition, his family asks that you please respect their wishes for privacy and grace. -The Simpson Family.”
Reports circulated in February that Simpson had been diagnosed with prostate cancer and was in hospice care. However, he denied that he was in hospice in a video post but did not address whether or not he’d been diagnosed with cancer.
He said at the time, “Hospice? Hospice? You talking ‘bout hospice?” he said in the video with a laugh, while adding that he doesn’t know who started the rumors.

Simpson following the trial due to her belief that he was guilty. Their friendship never fully recovered after that.
