#Socialites, do you remember the Burger King cook who went viral for never missing a day of work in 27 years? Well, he has since received over $400,000 in donations from the public, including $5,000 from actor Kevin Spade!

Kevin Ford, who works as a cashier and cook at a Burger King restaurant located inside of the McCarran International Airport in Las Vegas, went viral last year after revealing how in his 27 years of work, he had never called in sick or missed any time from the job.
Ford took to his TikTok back on June 20, 2022 and shared a video celebrating how in nearly three decades, he’d never missed one day of work. In the video, Ford showed off a bag of goodies that his employer gave to him for his amazing accomplishment. In his bag of gifts, Ford pulled out an envelope with a gift card to Regal Theaters, some Reese’s Pieces candy, a Starbucks cup, a lanyard, some Sharpie markers, LifeSavers candy, and more.
When Ford made 28 years on May 9 of this year, he celebrated with another video on TikTok and reflected on how working the same job for 28 years has been “a chore, pain, and pleasure at time, but it’s all been worth it.” He added, “We as workers, humans, people, employees do what we have to do in order to provide for our families and our needs and wants. IT’S NOT FOR NOTHING and YOU ARE NOT A FAILURE!!! You are a HERO!!!”

After Ford initially went viral, his daughter, Seryna, created a GoFundMe for her father. In the description of the campaign she wrote, “He originally began working at this job as a single father when he gained custody of me and my older sister 27 years ago. Then as our family grew and he remarried, he continued to work there because of the amazing health insurance that was provided through this employer because it was unionized. This got all four of his daughters through high school and college with full healthcare coverage.”
Seryna continued, “My dad continues to work there, because though he does look young, he is coming up on retirement age and leaving would cost him his retirement. In no way are we asking for money or is he expecting any money but if anyone feels like blessing him he would love to visit his grandchildren.”

On their original post, Kevin and family shared an update and shared how thankful they were after the public surpassed the original goal. As of Friday (August 11), Kevin’s campaign has currently raked in over $400,000 in donations. At the time of publishing this article the campaign reads, $409,844 has been raised out of a $450,000 goal. They’ve been blessed by over 13,700 donors.
On Friday, the family posted and said, “UPDATE: Only to say THANK YOU to everyone for changing our lives forever!!! Daughters: Xierra, Seryna, Elle, Nevaeh; and grandkids: Jovahn, Charli and Clara are doing great and wonderful!!! Remember the next miracle is coming YOUR way!! May God bless you and yours always.
