Buffalo Teen Who Spent 10 Hours Cleaning Up After Protests Awarded With Car & College Scholarship
Buffalo teen Antonio Gwynn Jr. has been awarded with a car and college scholarship after be spent 10 hours cleaning up his hometown following George Floyd and Black Lives Matter protests. Gwynn, 18, saw the damage done to his city and decided to pick up a broom on Monday and began sweeping at 2 a.m. until 10 hours later, straight.
In response to his efforts, he received a full scholarship to Medaille College, and to help get him there, a red 2004 Ford Mustang convertible was also gifted from a local resident, Matt Block, who saw the teen’s efforts and was deeply moved by them. He says, “I couldn’t come to grips with selling it and this was a good way for me to get rid of it and know someone that gets it is going to appreciate it.”

In addition to the two offerings, businessman, Bob Briceland, of Briceland Insurance, paid up a year’s worth of auto insurance for Gwynn’s new car. He says, “I just felt compelled to help him out. We just need to get together our whole city and show people how there’s so many good people here.”
