Spears’ attorney Sam Ingham III confirmed the update to Judge Brenda Penny that the pop singer would like to discuss the status of her conservatorship on June 23. “The conservatee has requested that I seek from the court a status hearing at which she can address the court directly. My client asked that it be done on an expedited basis,” Ingham told Judge Penny.

A motion was filed for documents relating to the conservatorship to be sealed from the public in relation to Jodi Montgomery, Spears’ temporary conservator. As reported by Page Six, she will be granted full access in September but Jamie Spears will remain as Britney’s co-conservator of her estate.

The outlet said in their exclusive that this is the first time Spears is making an appearance in court in years. A source close to her said that she had “expressed negative feelings about the conservatorship” and felt like she couldn’t live her life due to certain restrictions.
