Britney Spears’ fiancé Sam Asghari has taken to Instagram to thank fans for their ongoing support following the news that the couple had suffered a miscarriage. Britney first announced her pregnancy last month, saying she and Sam were looking forward to the new chapter in their relationship with the addition of their bundle of joy. But over the weekend, their excitement turned to sorrow as the Toxic singer revealed she had miscarried the baby.
Sam, who first met Britney on the set of her 2016 Slumber Party music video, has since shared an update on how the pair were holding up after breaking the news to fans last week, saying that despite how things have turned out, they were both moving forward with a positive mindset in hopes to try and expand their family again soon. “We have felt your support,” the fitness trainer and model wrote on his Instagram Story. “We are taking things positively and moving forward with our future. It’s hard but we are not alone.”

“Thank you for respecting our privacy. We will be expanding our family soon.” The heartfelt statement comes just days after Britney hopped onto her official Instagram page, telling her millions of followers about the devastating loss as she penned, “It is with our deepest sadness we have to announce that we have lost our miracle baby early in the pregnancy. This is a devastating time for any parent. Perhaps we should have waited to announce until we were further along however we were overly excited to share the good news.”

“Our love for each is our strength. We will continue trying to expand our beautiful family. We are grateful for your support. We kindly ask for privacy at this difficult moment.”
Britney is already a mom of two boys, Sean Preston, 16, and Jayden, 15, whom she shares with her ex-husband Kevin Federline. The two were married in 2004 but divorced three years later, having mostly shared joint custody since that time, until issues arose in the singer’s conservatorship and the former backup dancer was awarded 70 percent custody. It was reported that an alleged physical altercation between Britney’s dad Jamie Spears and Sean in late 2019 was to blame for the court-ordered ruling.
Earlier this week, the Mississippi native gave an insight into how she was holding up after enduring a miscarriage by posting a meme of Sex and the City’s Carrie Bradshaw with mascara running down her face while crying in the shower. Britney wrote an accompanying caption, which read, “I am not in the mood to be with a bunch of people. Unfortunately my mood these days … I honestly hope it doesn’t turn into years.”
