As Britney Spears and Justin Timberlake’s feud continues the singer recently shared a post and delete to his Instagram showing love to Janet Jackson.

In her post, Britney explained how much she admires Janet and kept the post very positive but fans seem to believe that Britney was seemingly throwing shade at Justin Timberlake with her post. “Thank you to this beautiful lady for keeping my dreams and heart alive,” Spears, 42, wrote via Instagram in a since-deleted post on Saturday, February 24. “She’s always been the deepest and brightest woman at the same time. She went through so much but I feel she is someone I will look up to for the rest of my life.”

The “Toxic” singer also shared a snap of Jackson’s 1993 Janet album cover, writing, “Thank you for your music and your divine way of untangling intelligence to a far more clear view than anyone could ever imagine.”

The Super Bowl halftime show is often one of the most highly anticipated and talked-about events of the year. However, one halftime show in particular still stands out in people’s memories more than a decade later – the infamous performance by Justin Timberlake and Janet Jackson at Super Bowl XXXVIII in 2004.

The show started off innocently enough, with Timberlake and Jackson performing a high-energy duet of Timberlake’s hit song “Rock Your Body.” The two singers were clearly in sync, dancing and singing their hearts out for the millions of viewers watching at home. But then, in a shocking moment that would go down in history, Timberlake reached over and ripped off a piece of Jackson’s costume, exposing her breast for a brief moment.

The incident, which quickly became known as “Nipplegate,” caused a massive uproar. The image of Jackson’s exposed breast was seen by millions of viewers, many of whom were outraged by the explicit nature of the performance. The FCC received over half a million complaints about the incident, and both Timberlake and Jackson issued public apologies for their roles in the scandal.

The fallout from the incident was swift and severe. Jackson’s music and videos were banned from many radio and television stations, and she was even disinvited from attending the Grammy Awards that year. Timberlake, on the other hand, managed to largely escape unscathed, leading to accusations of sexism and double standards in the entertainment industry.

Despite the controversy, both Timberlake and Jackson have continued to have successful careers in the years since the incident. Timberlake has released multiple hit albums and starred in numerous movies, while Jackson has continued to make music and perform live. However, the shadow of “Nipplegate” still hangs over both of their careers, serving as a cautionary tale about the risks of pushing the boundaries of decency on live television.
