Oop! Not she did it again! While flaunting a unique “British accent,” Britney Spears recently shared a story with her followers and claimed she burned off her hair, eyebrows, and eyelashes in a scary fireplace incident.
Four years after burning down her home gym, Britney Spears is recalling a frightening accident with her fireplace. While hopping on her Instagram on Monday (September 30), the Princess of Pop told her fans about a “really dangerous” accident she experienced about six months ago.
While laid up in her bed and employing a “British accent,” Britney Spears recorded herself as she recalled burning off her hair, eyebrows, and eyelashes during a scary fireplace incident. Spears said she was bored in bed and figured she’d use her “British accent” to update fans on how she’s been doing.
She said, “A lot has been happening, good and bad. Actually, six months ago, something happened that was really, really dangerous. I was in my room, and I turned the fire on, and all of a sudden, it blew up in my face. It’s done it before and the times it did it before, I always quit, so I’d always get my security to come in and light it for me because I was scared it was going to blow up.”
Laughing and cheesing as she continued, she said, “But, this time… I just threw the whole thing in there and it literally blew into my face and it took all my eyelashes off, my eyebrows, and see this baby hair? These baby bangs? This is from, basically, six months ago. It chiseled all my hair.”
In her “British accent,” Britney Spears continued to explain, “The person I was with just would not wake up. I thought I was going to have to go to the emergency room and all that because my face was on fire. I was like, ‘Wait! Third-degree? Second-degree burns? Like, what can happen?’ Because really, my whole face went in. Then, it hurt to even touch my phone. It hurt to put ice on my face. It hurt… anything to just touch it.”
She added, “So, this lasted for six or seven hours. It happened at like three in the morning and the pain never went away. It was so, so, so bad. So, finally, I took like three Tylenol [pills], which is like a really, really big deal for me. Tylenol is like a f***ing Vicodin or something. But, I took three and finally, I went to sleep. But, yeah, it was really bad. But, all is good now. I still have the little baby fine hair. It’s kind of stupid… it happens.”

As mentioned, four years ago Britney Spears burned down her home gym. In April 2020, the singer first opened up about the incident and revealed she accidentally burnt down the gym after lighting candles. She posted a video briefly explaining what happened before showing fans her workout. In her caption, she wrote, “It was an accident. But yes …. I burnt it down. I walked past the door to the gym and flames BOOM !!!!!!”
She added, “I walked past the door to the gym and flames, BOOM !!!!! By the Grace of God, the alarm went off after that, and yippy hoorah nobody got hurt. Unfortunately, now I have only two pieces of equipment left lol, and a one-sided mirror gym!!!! But it could be much worse so I’m grateful. Pssss I like working out better outside anyways!!!!”
In December 2023, she again recalled the frightening incident and shared an image of the damage and charred remains of her workout equipment on Instagram.
