Britney Spears’ Dad Jamie Allegedly Trying To Extort Her For $2M
You would think your own father would have your best interests, but that is clearly not the case for Jamie Spears who continues go make life for Britney a living hell.
According to Page Six, Britney’s legal team has filed paperwork claiming that her dad has demanded at least $2 million as a “quid pro quo” condition to remove himself from her guardianship.
“Britney Spears will not be bullied or extorted by her father,” her lawyer said in a statement. “Nor does Mr. Spears have the right to try to hold his daughter hostage by setting the terms of his removal.”
As we reported, a Los Angeles County Court motion states that Jamie, 68, must forfeit his control of her finances and business affairs by a Sept. 29 hearing.
“The world heard Ms. Spears’s courageous and compelling testimony. Britney Spears’s life matters. Her well-being matters. Every day matters. There is no basis to wait,” the document says.

However, Jamie continues to claim that there is no ill will towards his daughter.
“Ultimately, the Court knows that what Mr. Spears is saying is true: He loves his daughter and he is acting (and has always acted) in only her best interest,” Jamie’s lawyers previously said. “the transition needs to be orderly and include a resolution of matters pending before the Court.”
