While Britney Spears hasn’t said much about the documentaries that have been made about her in the past two years, particularly those uncovering her conservatorship, the pop star says America has done a “wonderful job” of “humiliating” her. The 40-year-old took to her Instagram on Saturday to share a lengthy message, just days after returning from her tropical honeymoon with husband Sam Asghari.
Britney appeared to have come across an article with the headline: “Are the Britney Spears documentaries exploiting her all over again?,” to which she responded, writing, “I feel like America has done a wonderful job at humiliating me… just like literally after being dropped off at this airport do you know in all my 20 years, never not one time have I been picked up in a golf cart?”

Upon her arrival in Los Angeles earlier this week, she was said to have been picked up in a golf cart as opposed to her usual car service, so that photographers could get a better shot of her as she exited the private jet. “That’s America for ya!! I’ve never felt more bullied in my life in this country, it’s insane. But Britney added that she was angrier about the several documentaries about her conservatorship, stressing that she has yet to see so many docs being made about the likes of Jennifer Lopez, Will Smith, or Gwyneth Paltrow.
“Not one person on the face of this Earth would – a network, TV production, or anyone for that matter – dig up that much negative footage and do hour specials claiming it’s ‘HELPING ME.’ REALLY??”
She continued, “It was the most insulting thing I ever saw in my life and every person I have spoken to said it’s why the conservatorship ended… REALLY? That’s the saddest thing I ever saw in my life. So, people not only get away with what they did to me, not even coming close to sharing what they really did to me, but they can expose me on such an embarrassing tone and claim it’s to ‘help’ me.”
The Mississippi native further expressed that her word in court, when she told the judge about the horrendous incidents that occurred during her 13-year conservatorship was more than enough to have the court order terminated — not because a heap of documentaries that were supposedly made in order to assist Britney in finding freedom.
“I just want to know how are all these people saying it helped me when I feel by with just my mouth and my WORD and what I said in my testimony to the judge!! THAT said it all…that would be ENOUGH.”
Britney said that she blamed America because “every person jumps on board” with the “heartbreaking” documentaries yet still haven no regard to the trauma she’s had to endure, implying that these TV specials are nothing more than entertainment, while she is left to grief the struggles that came with being tied to a conservatorship for 13 years.
A judge ruled in November that Britney would no longer need to be conserved, which has since seen her cut ties with her family members, many of whom she has accused of abusing their rights by disallowing her from having any sort of private life. “America, this nation has been one thing and one thing only to me – a bully,” she added.
