British Prime Minister Boris Johnson To Announce Coronavirus Restrictions Lift On Sunday
British Prime Minister Boris Johnson, who was hospitalized for a week in April after contracting COVID-19, reveals that he is announcing the lift of some coronavirus restrictions on the nation this Sunday (May 10).
PM Johnson confirmed that he will give a speech this weekend updating folks on the future of the current lockdown. Additionally, he says that the government will proceed with “maximum caution” as they consider easing restrictions,

In doing so, he tells members of the parliament that instead of going straight to the House of Commons to tell them ahead, he affirms, “We have to be sure the the data is going to support our ability to do this.” He adds that officials are monitoring data as it continuously comes in over the next few days. Should results improve, some measures will be lifted as early as Monday.
Furthermore, Johnson reveals that on the opposing end of the spectrum, if he lifts some of the restrictions, an “economic disaster” could ensue in the UK, stemming from a possible second spike in infections.
