Tragic news from Brazil: A plane carrying 62 people has crashed, and now all passengers are feared to be dead.
According to CNN, the aircraft was traveling from Cascavel, Brazil, to Guarulhos Airport near São Paulo when the incident occurred. The crash was reported to military police at 1:28 PM local time, but the cause of the accident has not yet been confirmed by the airline.
A shocking video circulating online shows the plane spiraling downwards, followed by a large fireball upon impact. The airline, VoePass, confirmed in a statement that there were 58 passengers and 4 crew members aboard the flight.

Emergency responders, including firefighters, military police, and civil defense teams, have been dispatched to the crash site in Vinhedo, as stated by the government.

In response to the devastating news, President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva addressed a crowd at an event in southern Brazil, asking them to observe a minute of silence. He indicated that it appeared all passengers and crew members had perished but did not provide further details on how this information was obtained. On social media, he expressed his condolences, stating, “Very sad. All my solidarity to the families and friends of the victims.”
This tragic incident comes less than a year after a plane crash in the Brazilian Amazon claimed the lives of 12 people, including a baby.
