BREAKING: Manhunt For ‘Armed And
Dangerous’ Student As Three Killed And Two Injured Following Shooting At University of Virginia
A huge manhunt is currently underway for a student who is said to be “armed and dangerous.” This comes after the 22-year-old man identified as Christopher Darnell Jones, a former football player for the college, allegedly went on a shooting rampage.
According to reports, the mass shooting unfolded at around 10:30 pm on Sunday. The University of Virginia Office of Emergency Management said gunfire broke out at a parking garage on the university’s main campus along Culbreth Road in Charlottesville. Three victims were killed in the attack while another two were wounded and were taken to a local hospital to seek medical treatment. As of now, their conditions still remain unclear.
So far, the identities of the deceased victims have not been publicly shared yet and officials have not confirmed if they are students at the university. No motive is known for the attack and it is not clear if the victims were targeted or if the was a random act of violence.

What Are Police Doing?
Several police agencies including UVA Police and VA State Police are currently searching for the former athlete. UVA Police says a Virginia State Police helicopter is in the air and students, staff and residential in the nearby area have been advices to shelter in place.
Jones was last reported seen wearing a burgundy jacket with blue jeans and red shoes. UVAPD says he may be driving a black SUV with Virginia tag: TWX3580.

Meanwhile, UVA President Jim Ryan in a letter addressed to students and staff has announced that classes will be canceled Monday.
“Dear Students: We have all received several shelter in place texts, and they are frightening. I am on Grounds like many of you; I am sheltering in place and in direct touch with University leadership and UPD. Please, please take the shelter in place commands seriously as the situation remains active. The suspect is armed and dangerous. If you are not inside and safe, immediately seek safety.
Know that UPD, CPD and multiple jurisdictions are working diligently to locate the suspect. Please rely on communications
from the University as we will give you the most up-to-date information.”
