The three boys, ages 12,10 and 8 found the spider while farming near their home last Saturday. The boys used a stick to bother the arachnid until it bit each of them as reported by the country’s Ministry of Health official Virgilio Pietro during a coronavirus press briefing. Pietro said their mother rushed them to a local clinic after she found them crying in pain and they were soon transferred to a hospital for treatment.
The boys experienced severe symptoms such as tremors, fevers, and muscle pains due to the black widow’s venomous bite.

Pietro called the incident “a warning to parents” and said children often believe that everything they see in movies is real. The boys were discharged from the hospital on Wednesday after being treated for their bites.
